Why the impatience? It usually takes approximately two years from acceptance to publication by a commercial publisher.

Your cover will be as close to your suggestion as PA can make it.

After giving your cover approval, the book will be sent to the printer and will appear on online bookstores (amazon.com etc.) within a matter of weeks but the release date will be two months hence. Before the actual release date, you can send out press releases, order books, set up book signings and send out your book for review.

If you order books directly from PA you will make considerably more than you will make in royalties. This is one of the main arguments against PA: you should not have to sell your own books in order to make a profit.

Today I received an email from PA stating an outlay of $15 milion to produce books by 25,000 authors. That is an average cost of $600 per author. If you had signed with a Vanity Publisher, they would have charged $600 + profit%.

If you sell between 60-70 books, you will have sold enough books to cover the costs of producing your book plus a small profit for the company. If you sell less than 60 books, some of the remaining 25,000 authors, who sell more than 70 books, will recover the loss for the company.

if you expect to sell thousands of books, you will be disappointed. If you eventually sold over 100 books, you would have done very well.

Bombarding author support with emails is not a good idea!
